God still nudges people
In February 2024, a group from Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Wareham, MA, attended a Leadership Launch Weekend with Vision Partners. Pastor Grey wanted Vision Partners to help prepare 15 potential church leaders. Together, they worked on self-discovery, goal-setting, and building healthy routines. Emmanuel's team shared some reflections.
“While I am still unsure of why I was invited, which may in part be due to issues of low self-worth (I’m working on it), I learned a lot about myself. A lot of it very surprising and very encouraging and it has given me a great deal to consider. I found that given so short a period to answer deep questions brought out guy answers that I found to be so revealing. I am blessed now with a greater understanding of myself. I don’t know where I’m going but He is with me and He knows and that’s all that truly matters.”
During our weekend, we kick off by guiding everyone to explore how God works through their life journeys, strengths, interests, and how these influence their current circumstances. By aligning these elements, we reveal the presence of God's grace in individuals' lives, leading to a powerful moment of inspiration.
“I learned why I drift from committing to church membership. Finding my strengths has given me a structure to overcome fears and keep a new focus, plan and purpose…I plan to use the resource reflection pages to monitor and track my progress. I plan to follow through with my goals and areas to grow.”
Discoveries lead to making personalized plans for each individual. It's a crucial moment where participants find their unique traits and can create a tailored strategy to pursue their goals. The significant moments happened during sharing experiences and supporting each other at the tables.
“I learned about the people at my table and how well we can work together for God’s Kingdom. We matched up perfectly. Woven by God ahead of time.”
15 people, some experienced ministry leaders and others just starting out, discovered God still nudges people.
